It’s a rest day! That said, I was up at 6am and hungry. I let Kim sleep longer and I went down to the hotel breakfast area where they we offering up scrambled eggs, bacon, cubed potatoes, waffles, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee. We could serve ourselves but they asked that we the rubber gloves that were prepackaged in sandwich gloves. I ran into Rusty and Wayne from the Nashville Gang at breakfast and chatted with them for a bit, while I shoveled it in. They were looking to get an 8:30am start heading south.

Kim walked down for breakfast at 7am and we sat and chatted. We both thought it was funny that we felt like we could just keep eating and not feeling anywhere near full, but we also figured overdoing it was not the best thing to do either.

Kim’s laptop charger went dead a couple days ago so she walked over to Walmart to see if she could find a new one while I went down to the first-floor coin operated laundry to do another load of biking clothes. Kim came up empty handed on the charger so we’ll probably have to order one and have it sent ahead and held for us at one of our overnight locations.

For lunch we microwaved some pulled pork barbeque and made sandwiches with pickles and chips. After that it was nap time. Kim has been busy planning our overnights for the week and making sure that any reservations for camping or motels are cancelable with 24 hours’ notice. We’ve been burned with planning to far ahead in the past.

Now it’s time to reorganize and start packing for the week. If things go according to plan, we’ll be through Colorado by early next week. We’re looking forward to taking in the landscapes it has to offer, meet some local peeps and conquer the highest pass on the adventure, Hoosier Pass at 11,542 feet. If all goes well, we’ll climb that pass on Saturday.

It’s actually raining in Rawlins right now! I know the locals are excited about that. We’re happy just to be indoors and out of it.

My nephew Andrew updated the blog site with another tab called. “In The Media”, in case you missed a few of the cool things we’ve posted previously and tucked within the early blogs.

Our adventure and cause made the Kare11 6pm news in Minneapolis today! I’m trying to figure out how to get it on our blog.

The picture is the map of our route for the next week, map #6 of 12.
